CEUDA News Release Policy
Media will first be informed on matters of concern to CEUDA by way of news release.

News releases under cover of CEUDA, whether the matter addressed is local or national, will only be moved/issued  by the National Office, and will be sent to the National Board of Directors at least twenty-four (24) hours ahead of time whenever possible.

Branch Presidents or National Vice-Presidents or the CEUDA Equal Opportunity Representative are not to move/issue news releases without first consulting the National Office.  The word consulting should be read as defined in the Policy and Procedures for Effective Union/Management Relations.

For matters of a local or regional nature, news releases moved/issued by the National Office  will refer media inquiries back to the Branch President(s) and/or National Vice-President(s) and/or CEUDA Equal Opportunity Representative.

No news release shall be moved/issued until efforts have been made to consult with the employer on the issue.

A request to consult on a matter for which CEUDA is entertaining moving/issuing a news release must, as a minimum, be made in writing to the employer.

Failure of the employer to respond to CEUDA's request to consult must, as a last measure before a news release is moved/issued be met by a call from the National President to the employer.
