CEUDA News Release Policy News releases under cover of CEUDA, whether the matter addressed is local or national, will only be moved/issued by the National Office, and will be sent to the National Board of Directors at least twenty-four (24) hours ahead of time whenever possible. Branch Presidents or National Vice-Presidents or the CEUDA Equal Opportunity Representative are not to move/issue news releases without first consulting the National Office. The word consulting should be read as defined in the Policy and Procedures for Effective Union/Management Relations. For matters of a local or regional nature, news releases moved/issued by the National Office will refer media inquiries back to the Branch President(s) and/or National Vice-President(s) and/or CEUDA Equal Opportunity Representative. No news release shall be moved/issued until efforts have been made to consult with the employer on the issue. A request to consult on a matter for which CEUDA is entertaining moving/issuing a news release must, as a minimum, be made in writing to the employer. Failure of the employer to respond to CEUDA's request to consult must, as a last measure before a news release is moved/issued be met by a call from the National President to the employer. |
