Election of Branch Officers
With the 2005 CEUDA National Convention fast approaching, the time has come to begin planning for Branch elections. The national office, with coordination from the By-Laws, Branch Rules, and Board of Directors Regulations Committee of the CEUDA National Board of Directors, has prepared a Branch Elections Kit to facilitate the carrying out of Branch elections. 

Direct any irregularities or complaints to Ms. Terri Desjardins at the CEUDA National Office and immediately report any irregularities or complaints; she may be reached by calling (613) 723-8008, X-306.

This Kit has been produced only for use as an administrative tool only, to assist each Branch in carrying out its elections. Members of the Branch Executive and of the NEC must familiarize themselves with Branch Rule 9 - the legal authority for carrying out Branch elections; this Kit does not replace nor have precedence over Branch Rule 9.

CHECKLIST Chronological guide for the Branch Executive and Nominations Elections Committee (NEC) to follow when undertaking the Branch elections process.
DOC #1 Definitions: Rand, Member, Member in Good Standing, and Day.

Schedule worksheet to help current Branch Executive and the NEC visualize the election timelines and set the election schedule dates; must be faxed to the National Office for validation of schedule.

Notification of Voting Period, Chair & Secretary, NEC
To be faxed to the National Office after Branch Executive sets first and last voting dates, and appoints Chair and Secretary to the NEC.

To be posted in all Branch worksites after NEC appoints Returning Officers (if required) and after election schedule dates are validated by the National Office.

Nomination Form
Copies to be distributed to every Branch worksite by the NEC. Completed Nomination Forms are administered by the NEC Secretary.

To be posted in all Branch worksites.

Notification of Elected / Acclaimed Branch Executive
To be faxed to the National Office by the NEC once results are known.

To be posted in all Branch worksites, after all candidates are advised of elections results.

Challenge
May be needed by members seeking to file appeals. Appeals must be filed with the National President within 10 calendar days after posting of results.
