We are at a loss to understand why the Federal Government has not been listening to your members' concerns.

New Drug-impaired Driving Bill First Step in Right Direction
APR 28 News release ... The country’s top police associations, a pre-eminent victims’ rights organization and the national union representing Customs Officers joined voices today in welcoming introduction of new legislation for drug-impaired driving (Bill C-32) as a good first step toward strengthening the enforcement of drug-impaired driving offenses.

An open letter concerning Bill C-38, Decriminalization of marijuana

FEB 24, 2004 Joint letter ... The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, the Canadian Professional Police Association, the Canadian Association of Police Boards, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the union representing Canada’s customs officers (CEUDA) are concerned about the serious ramifications for Canadians’ health and safety posed by your Government’s initiative to decriminalize marijuana. The loosening of possession laws will come at a high price for our society.

CEUDA, Police, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving urge Prime Minister to delay marijuana Bill
FEB 24, 2004 News release ... In an open letter to the Prime Minister Paul Martin, the country’s top police associations, a pre-eminent victims’ rights organization and the national union representing customs officers called on the Prime Minister to delay the passage of the new marijuana legislation until countermeasures are in place to safeguard Canadians’ health and safety.

CEUDA President meets with President of Canadian Professional Police Association, forges bridge

JAN 29 Ottawa ...Brothers Moran and Fortin (2nd from right and far right) met with the President and Executive Director of the CPPA, Mr. Tony Cannavino and Mr. David Griffin (2nd from left and far left), respectively.  Both sides agreed on the importance of building an alliance and working together to advance issues on which CEUDA and CPPA share common ground.  Mr. Cannavino will address the CEUDA NBoD at its Mar-Apr 2004 meeting in Ottawa.
