OCT 2005 Results ... Delegates to CEUDA's Convention elected 25 Delegates to the PSAC Convention that is taking place next year.  The National President is automatically qualified to attend as CEUDA's National President and as a member of the PSAC National Board of Directors.

CEUDA Convention adopts renewed By-Laws

OCT 2005 New format ... CEUDA has 20 By-Laws that govern national operations of the union.  The By-Laws format has stayed relatively unchanged for nearly 30 years.  The By-Laws Committee of the CEUDA NBoD proposed a new format, which the Board supported in April 2005 and which Convention Delegates adopted at CEUDA's 14th National Convention.

Sept 30 to Oct 2 - CEUDA held its 14^th National Convention in Ottawa.

With great pride and loud applause, Delegates adopted a no dues increase budget.

Delegates also showed strong support for CEUDA’s former National President, Ron Moran, and acclaimed him to another term in office.  There was definitely a feeling that CEUDA, under Ron’s leadership was on the right track and Delegates are eager to see where CEUDA will head under his continued stewardship. 

Also back in office for another term are Jean-Pierre Fortin (Quebec’s Eastern Townships) as 1^st National Vice-President, Steve Pellerin-Fowlie (Calgary, Alberta) as 2^nd NVP, and Carolyn McGillivray (Surrey, B.C.) as CEUDA’s Equal Opportunity Representative. 

New members elected to the National Executive are
Mike Walker (Fredericton, NB) as 3^rd NVP, and George Scott (Vancouver, B.C.) as 4^th NVP.

A new Resolution also led to the election of an Alternate EO Rep, Danielle Dubuc (Lacolle, Quebec).

CEUDA NBoD Revamps Branch Elections Rule

APR 2005 New format ... CEUDA’s Branch Rule 9 spells out how Branch elections take place.  The Rule has stayed relatively unchanged for nearly 30 years.  The By-Laws Committee of the CEUDA NBoD proposed a new format, which the NBoD adopted at its April 2005 meeting.  Highlights include: the same, single schedule for all Branches; the National Office will set the schedule, to start after Convention and end before Christmas holidays of the same year; 2-week timeframes for each period.  Next: the Branch Elections Kit will be amended for next round of elections, set to take place between Oct and Dec 2008.
