Our
position on key points pertaining to this Union's philosophy and operations
|
By-Laws |
The CEUDA By-Laws,
Branch Rules and
Board of Directors Regulations form the CEUDA
By-Laws, which itself is superceded by the
PSAC Constitution. CEUDA is committed and
obligated to operate within the scope, authority and limits outlined in the PSAC
Constitution and CEUDA By-Laws. |
|
Objectives |
The Union exists to unite and represent all GST, Excise, and Customs employees of
the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. CEUDA endorses the aims and objectives of the PSAC, promotes the rights, interests
and welfare of CEUDA Members, and endeavours to obtain the best possible standards of
wages and conditions of employment for all CEUDA Members.
|
|
Volunteerism |
It should be acknowledged that, with the exception of the
National President and a National Office staff of ten (10), all CEUDA
representatives volunteer their time and effort to help and assist CEUDA
Members.
CEUDA is recruiting volunteers.
Please get involved. |
|
Services |
CEUDA is committed to
servicing the Membership. Every effort is made to proactively
address issues of concern to the Membership. |
|
Elections |
All Union Officers are democratically elected at
CEUDA's Conventions, according to the procedures outlined in the
CEUDA By-Laws and Branch Rules. |
|
Union Dues |
It is CEUDA Policy that Members with lower paying jobs will pay less dues; this approach is based on a concept called percentage dues and
is, according to CEUDA, a fairer and more equitable way of collecting
Membership dues.
|
|
Equal Opportunity |
CEUDA has and continues to be proactive in Equal Opportunity issues; in fact, CEUDA's
Delegates to the 11th National Convention voted to create an official
Equal Opportunity
Representative (E.O. Rep.) position in the organization whereby the
E.O. Rep. is responsible for addressing equal opportunity
issues and is a full Member of the
National Board of Directors. |
|
Lobbying |
By far, CEUDA is one of the most politically and publicly vocal Unions of the PSAC.
Our
lobby experience is second to none. Following consultation with the Membership, Briefs to
Parliament, News Releases, Position Statements and Policy Papers are all prepared and
printed in-house and acted upon by the Union's leaders at the
Branch, regional, and national levels. |
|
Representation |
Local Representatives, who are supported by professional Technical Officers from the
National Office, are available to process and administer grievances and appeals. We are
working diligently with the Canada Revenue Agency and with Canada Border
Services Agency officials to protect the jobs
and rights of
our Members and to ensure that gains previously made will not be lost. |
|
Safety and Health |
Your Union continuously meets with senior CRA and CBSA officials to address issues of Safety and
Health that affect you including, for example, work space allocation, ergonomics, and
Safety and Health training. |
