Conventions
CEUDA Delegates, elected
by members at the Branch level, meet every 3 years at a National
Convention. The next Convention will be held in Ottawa from
Sept 30 to Oct 2, 2005. Delegates will debate and vote on
Resolutions proposed by members, Branch Executives, or the National
Executive; they will also elect or reelect National Executive
officers, an EO Rep, and Delegates to the PSAC Convention.

Equal Opportunity Representative
CEUDA is one of few Components of the PSAC to have an Equal Opportunity
Representative to have a voice at the national level, and in this case, on its National
Board of Directors. Find out more about CEUDA's E.O. Representative and how she is
working to improve opportunities for members.

Life Members
A Life Membership may be awarded to any
member who, through personal and devoted efforts in the affairs of
the Union, has performed exemplary services for the
membership. The awarding of Life Membership shall be
recommended by the Honours and Awards Committee of the Board of
Directors, which shall establish regulations to govern the
awarding thereof. A recommendation submitted to the
Board of Directors requires the support of two-thirds (2/3)
majority of the Board of Directors assembled in regular meeting
and voting by secret ballot to be adopted and for Life Membership
to be awarded.

NBoD - committees
At the national level, CEUDA's has 15
Committees and 4 Sub-Committee. Most Committees meet the day
prior to a Board meeting, then they prepare reports to submit to the
Board; each report itemizes issues discussed in Committee and may
offer recommendations on actions to take. The Board then
debates and votes on whether to adopt each recommendation, as well
as each report.

NBoD -
meetings
Branch Presidents, who are also members of the CEUDA National Board of Directors (NBoD),
meet every six months, usually in April and October, or more often, when required - such as by
conference call, to make decisions related to union policy, direction and action, amendments to Branch Rules and to Board of
Directors Regulations, and to decide on some expenditures.

National
Executive - meetings
Executive Officers chair Board Committees,
are responsible for various portfolios, and - although CEUDA does
not have a regional structure - have also been assigned
responsibility for Branches. The National Executive meets
every 3 months, usually in January, April, July, and October, or
more often if required. At each meeting, Executive Officers
submit written reports to serve as updates on the status of work
they carry out on behalf of their Committees, for their portfolios,
and to flag any issue that may have emerged in a Branch for which
they are responsible, should that issue warrant attention.

Volunteer -
become an activist
Did you know that, other than the National President and
national office staff who work full-time out of the national office
in Ottawa, every CEUDA representative across Canada, who works on
your behalf and that of other union members, is a volunteer?
